To get the boiler to sit correctly in the frames we needed a thin packing piece under one of the rear supports and this was duly welded into place over the weekend.

A major component fitted was the loco's steam brake. Here the piston ring is being fitted.

The operating arm for the steam brake also needed attention with a new pin and the piston arm needing thinning slighty to fit into the crank arm.

Bolting down the smokebox end of the boiler to the smokebox saddle was a significant job for the weekend. To ensure the correct allignment of the Mag Drill onto the curved surface a small platform needed tacking in place for each hole. This was then removed afterwards.

At the end of the weekend four more bolts had been fitted on the loco's left hand side and two on the right.

We started re-attaching the boiler's central support diaphragm plate. This needs some fitted bolts making then welding in place. A job to be continued next time.
