Restoration Plans and Working Party Dates

Working parties are normally held on the weekend of the third Saturday of the month, however, occasionally there may be to move it to another weekend to allow for thinks like special events on the railway. 

The majority of those involved in the restoration are either drivers or fireman on the railway and their services are quite often needed for running the railway during much of the year so in all likelihood the winter period will see most progress on the loco. However, it has been decided that this should not preclude summer working parties therefore work on the loco will continue throughout the year with the exception of August, the peak period on the railway. 

On top of the working weekends a group known as Team Wylfa hold regular working parties at Dinas on Tuesday evenings and when their services are not required for other tasks they also work on №134.  Indeed, it is Team Wylfa that have kept the restoration project alive for the years prior to the current activity and progress.

The working party dates are as follows:

2012

January:  
21st - 22nd

February: 18th - 19th

March: 17th - 18th

April: 14th - 15th

May:  19th - 20th (This is the Beer Festival weekend so much more to enjoy).

June: 9th - 10th

July: 21st - 22nd

Sept: 15th - 16th

Oct: 20th - 21st

Nov: 17th - 18th

Dec: 15th - 16th

 



 Anyone wishing to come along to the help will be made most welcome HOWEVER please do not arrive unannounced. Work is taking place on WHR grounds and we need to inform the relevant people who is going to be on-site so please contact either Peter Randall or Andie Shaw in the first instance or Clive Briscoe for Team Wilfa.
