The Welsh Highland Railway

The Welsh Highland Railway (WHR) is a 2ft gauge railway that runs from Caernarfon to Porthmadog in North Wales. At Porthmadog the WHR connects to the Ffestiniog Railway (FR) where it continues to Blaenau Ffestiniog. The locomotive is owned by the Ffestiniog Railway Company who operates both railways and is being restored for use on the WHR section.

As this website is directed at the restoration of the locomotive much fuller details of the WHR, it's rebuilding and its operation can be found through the links above. You may also wish to visit Barrie Hughes' Constriction Website for informal news and information about all things WHR.
